Blake, Ashley and their daughter Mila Ritchie are currently serving at the Children of Destiny Children’s Home in Jinotega, Nicaragua. After feeling called to serve at the home in a more long term setting, they decided to quit their jobs, sell their things and start off on the new journey God had set for them. Three months later, they were in Nicaragua where they are today. The home usually has around 25-30 children; ages ranging from 0-18 years.
Blake, a former aspiring college football coach, had plans all but set to attain a graduated assistant coaching job. However, when he traveled to Nicaragua, God had his own plans for Blake. Now, he is currently serving as the Field Director of the ministry.
Ashley has a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of West Florida. Like Blake, Ashley also thought she had her plans figured out! However, God called her to Nicaragua to serve at the home. Ashley is the Field Administrator and oversees Child Sponsorships. Mila, born April 17, 2015, is currently their only child and was born in Matagalpa, Nicaragua. They are currently committed to serve until summer of 2019. They have always wanted to do missions since their first week long mission trip; and when the door opened, they decided to take the opportunity!
