Training. Sending. Serving. Joining Globe

Globe International was founded in 1973 by Baptist Pastor Ken Sumrall who had a vision to train and send an army of young people around the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

J. Robert Bishop served as Globe’s first Director from 1976 to 2001. Doug Gehman first joined the Globe Leadership Team as Assistant Director in 1994. When Bob Bishop retired in 2001 he turned the Director title over to Doug. In 2004 Doug also become the President of the Board.

Globe’s Leadership Team is now comprised of experienced ministry leaders who share many decades of cross-cultural global service on multiple continents. Globe’s Board of Directors is comprised of pastors, businessmen, and mission and ministry executives who oversee the organization. Globe’s Board and Leadership team ascribe to a Policy Governance model of oversight.

You may read Globe International’s Statement of Faith. In short, Globe believes every word of the Bible is true and without error, Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God who gave His life at Calvary for the sins of the world and rose again three days later victorious over sin, death, and the grave. He then gave the commission to reach the world with His Gospel, the only way of salvation for mankind, a final directive that has guided His Church ever since. All those who believe and receive Jesus Christ have an eternally secure home in heaven. All who refuse the Gospel will be lost forever. The followers of Jesus have a mandate to grow in their faith, study God’s Word, aspire to become like Jesus Christ in every area of their lives, and live to honor Him and spread His Message to the nations until He returns.

Globe International is a member of the Globe Network, a fraternity of like-minded sending agencies based in five countries. Globe is also a member of the Luis Palau Next Generation Alliance and of Missio Nexus. Globe serves the mission and evangelistic vision of hundreds of churches from many denominational and independent traditions.

Since 1983, Globe International has been a member in good standing with the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability.
